About Al-Tamkom Comprehensive School

Al Tamkon Comprehensive School was established in 2008 to meet the growing community needs for comprehensive services for students with Multiple Intelligences and Talents, as it was licensed as the first specialized private school for students with Multiple Intelligences and Talents in Qatar, providing comprehensive therapeutic education and rehabilitation services for males and females of all educational levels.

In 2014, Al-Tamkon Inclusive School witnessed a significant transformation as it relocated to its new building in the Ain Khaled area near Doha. This move was a strategic step aimed at accommodating a larger number of students and providing comprehensive educational and rehabilitation services that cater to the needs of the served communities.

By the end of the 2022/2023 academic year, the school had exceeded 235 male and female students. In order to deliver the highest level of quality in educational and rehabilitation services, more than 135 highly qualified and globally experienced staff were employed.

The school distinguished itself by obtaining national school accreditation according to the Qatari curriculum from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in May 2019. Furthermore, it received a license from the Ministry of Public Health in October of the same year, making it the first and only specialized private school in Qatar to hold both educational and healthcare accreditation simultaneously. This ensures the provision of integrated educational, rehabilitation, and therapeutic services in the same place, committed to the best international practices and scientific foundations.

Al-Tamken Inclusive School is located in the Ain Khaled area in the southern part of Doha, occupying a land area of approximately 15,000 square meters. Five thousand square meters of this space were allocated for the school, playgrounds, and staff accommodation.

The school consists of three buildings, with the first building housing the Primary Unit for Multiple Intelligences and Talents - Boys and Girls, Specialized Education Unit, and natural vocational rehabilitation unit. This three-story building includes 20 classrooms and more than 20 additional rooms for support services and enrichment activities. The school also features two inner courtyards, a multi-purpose room, a theater that can accommodate more than 120 people, a central kitchen, and a cafeteria. There are also rooms dedicated to sensory integration, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, resource rooms, a library, and a training hall.

The second building is home to the Middle and High Unit for Multiple Intelligences and Talents (Boys), while the third building is dedicated to school administration. To facilitate access to the school, transportation is provided for students interested in joining from various areas of Doha.

  • Individualized educational plans for each student based on a comprehensive assessment by a multidisciplinary team to identify strengths and needs. The comprehensive assessment team includes a psychologist, speech and language therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, sensory integration specialist, special education specialist, adapted sports specialist, educational technology, and academic subject teachers such as mathematics, Arabic, English, and science, as well as enrichment activity instructors. Additionally, the school adopted the Skills for Adaptive Behavior System (S.A.B.S.) at the beginning of the 2017/2018 academic year, which provides individualized assessments, goals, and quarterly action plans for each student in nine areas of adaptive behavior based on the latest global standards and programs.

  • High staff-to-student ratio in autism classes (three teachers for every eight students), as the total staff count in the school for the past academic year was 137 employees, with the administrative staff comprising only 12%. This ensures comprehensive services for 186 students, with the high staff-to-student ratio guaranteeing enhanced security, safety, and personalized education and rehabilitation.
